Entries for December, 2005
December 31, 2005Last 5 mins of 2k5 Posted at 09:17 PM I would probably have continued staring at nothingness if my dad's much-awaited adobo's aroma did not reach my senses. Last day of 2005. I knew it from the moment my eyes fluttered open and caught the ceiling that our house, at 2 in the afternoon, had been bustling in a festive mood for quite some time already. I also had the somehow sad realization that that was the last waking up for 2005. Mom has kept herself busy preparing dishes that would accompany us in welcoming 2006. Ridiculous amount of food to be partaken by only the three or four of us. Hahaha. Mind you, later, I know it perfectly and I can already picture it quite vividly as early as now, Mom will fret upon seeing everything she prepared has been barely eaten. Moms are always like that. New Year. My 20th New Year's Eve. I am always fascinated with the thought that the earth has sucessfully completed another revolution. I also find it wonderful that this is a world-wide event (Christmas only applies to Christians) and that countries basically are united even by the sole word "celebration". Some, when they 'New Year', would more or less imagine firecrackers and noise pollution. These only come second to my list. When I hear 'New Year', I can almost see Europe and Asia and the rest of the continents, how the Earth looks like if you're in outer space just looking at it, and a poster of all the flags of all the nations. Resolutions would come third. I guess I really love Geography. Always the day of recalling as well. Let me enumerate some of my well-remembered encounters this 2005. 1) Sister and niece went migrating to US (sad) kakatamad na mag-isip. This attitude, I want to change. Happy New Year World.
